CC's Dental Surgery
A family orientated and locally owned dental business Cate Corcoran who most people call CC
After working in the local health districts in Western Sydney and then Dubbo for many years, CC moved into private practice in Narromine and Gilgandra. CC has 20 years of experience within the dental industry. Cate opened her very own dental surgery in Gilgandra in 2020.
Gilgandra is very special to CC, she loves her community and has a passion to make a difference to Gilgandra and the surrounding country towns. She has a strong focus on preventative dentistry.
CC as a dental therapist that treats all patients for many procedures including check up and cleans, xrays as required, fillings, extractions and much more, she has a passion for children’s dentistry and a focus on school education and screenings. With the correct education and regular check ups, together our surgery and your family can make a difference to your children’s oral health as well as your own.
CC's Dental Surgery Gilgandra

A referral pathway and discussion if necessary, for treatments that require extensive treatment/procedures, to dentists that CC trusts and has a professional relationship with.
Children's Dentistry
The best time to bring your child for their first check up is once your child has their first tooth or between 1-2 years of age.
This is always a good time to bring them for an examination to get them comfortable with the clinic and staff.
We like to build trust with the children and parents hopefully before any treatments are required, such as invasive fillings or extractions.
We always take our time and be patient with any child or adult who has a fear or anxiety about any procedure that is required. We also give options if we can defer or refer to another practitioner or specialist if needed.
The first step is to bring your children to their first check up by 1-2 years of age and then we can devise a treatment review of 6-12 months. This depends on the health of your child’s teeth/soft tissues and medical history will determine when check ups would be beneficial for your child.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening isn't for everyone and requires educated and trained dental professional's to make informed decisions to see if you are candidate to undergo whitening.
Whitening is considered an irreversible procedure and should be discussed in detail prior to undergoing the procedure.
If you are able to go ahead with whitening, cc will discuss all options and possible outcomes.
The procedure can usually be done in chair in the clinic and you can be made a take home kit with instructions, which is easily monitored.

Preventative Dentistry
Prevention is the key to optimal long term oral health.
Dental education and identifying risk factors early on can reduce the severity of dental diseases like:
• Dental caries/holes
• Periodontal disease/gum disease
• Oral cancer
• Oral infections and diseases
With a 6 month check up on the above mentioned, oral diseases can be reduced with a strong focus on soft and hard tissues.
We can pick up and monitor changes and reverse hard tissues abnormalities in some instances. We can also notice any changes to the soft tissue, as these cells are very sensitive and can change quickly. With any change in soft tissues we need to be mindful that there could a lesion that needs to be checked by a specialist. This 6 month check up allows us to ensure we're monitoring any changes in the tongue, soft palate, cheeks etc to allow us to look after you long term.
